Work Zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever. April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. As we approach spring & summer in the northern hemisphere, we see even more road construction. Yes indeed, we all get frustrated with travel delays, but these hard-working people also keep roads safe & useable, and sometimes it costs far too many lives. In 2022, out of 891 deaths, over 700 included drivers and their passengers and other bystanders, including cyclists and pedestrians. Let’s all work to slow down and stay focused while approaching and passing through a roadway work zone. #NWZAW  #Orange4Safety #SaferSharedRoadsForAll  #VRUs WorkZoneSafety.org.

These numbers are not about hating cars, they are really about a declining quality of life for all when moving about outside of a moving vehicle is the least safe option. #SaferSharedRoadsForAll

As with so many things, the solutions are not simple, and we must keep the pressure to reverse the growing numbers of injured, maimed for life, and killed for simply sharing the road. Each member of the transportation equation has a critical role to play.
